Today she has created a successful podcast Tough Girl Challenges where she interviews female explorers, adventurers, athletes and everyday women who have overcome great challenges, and a community around it. Konstnären (in Swedish) – Lena Rydén

This episode is about the explorer archetype The Artist. I’ve tried to find someone to interview in English but haven’t been able to pull it off so this episode is in Swedish, so if you don’t understand Swedish this episode is not for you. But there will be episodes in English about The Artist archetype so keep an eye or an ear out for coming episodes. Cover Photo: AnnaCarin Isaksson Music: What is the Journey? by Colin Mutchler (c) 2014 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (3.0) license. http://ccmixter.org/files/commonsplice/45492 Ft: Doxe bensound-acousticbreeze Royalty free music from Bensound

The Adventurer

The Adventurer – The Kontiki Museum

In this episode we take a look at the adventurer. This is the type of person who typically travel and explores the physical world. Either to discover new unknown places or to travel to already known places but in new ways. It is a person who wants an extraordinary life. The adventurer wants to challenge him or her self and push physical and mental limits. This is what the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl did in 1946 when he sailed on a balsa wood raft from Peru on the western coast of South America to the Polyneesian Islands in the Pacific ocean. I visited the Kon-Tiki museum in Oslo Norway and met Reidar Solsvik, curator at the museum, who told me more about Thor Heyerdahl and what made him this archetypical adventurer. The Scientist – The Nobel Center

We kick off this Explorer theme for real with the Scientist archetype who with her structured approach investigates and dives deep into a topic. Not all researchers are explorers and you can be a scientific explorer without having a formal doctoral degree. It’s all about your mindset and willingness to think for yourself. I made a visit to Stockholm and the Nobel Center to find out more about some of the greatest scientists. I met Gustav Källstrand who is an historian of ideas and work at the Nobel Center. I met him at their beautiful office in the center of Stockholm, and we came to about curiosity, ideas, what motivates a scientist and the feeling when you realize you’ve discovered things no one has ever seen before and the importance of intuition. Welcome to Season 2 – Explorers

Welcome to a new season dedicated to exploring and the great explorers of the world! Explorers and exploration will be the overarching theme, but what about archives you might think? Well they will still be around because they are the big sources of knowledge and inspiration in this podcast. We will continue to visit museums, archives, libraries and other places where interesting people reside so that our insatible curiosity can be pleased for at least a moment. So I have changed a few things and if you’ve listened to season one you’ve immediatelly identify one big thing I guess – the change of language from Swedish to English. The hope is to reach more listeners by doing so. But back to the new theme of season two – Explorers – and why I have choosen to focus on that. The reason is that the explorers are the ones who go on their own paths to discover new places, things, ideas and ways of living and being that the rest of us don’t know of yet. …

Hungerkravaller

Avsnitt 18: Hungerkravallerna 1917

Musik: What is the Journey? …

Medicine
